{"id":200,"date":"2017-05-24T20:41:20","date_gmt":"2017-05-25T03:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ldottxt.com\/txt\/?p=200"},"modified":"2017-06-01T18:03:07","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T01:03:07","slug":"the-siren","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ldottxt.com\/txt\/2017\/05\/24\/the-siren\/","title":{"rendered":"The Siren"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I attended <a href=\"http:\/\/a-camp.org\/\">A-Camp<\/a> this past weekend, and there I met a Siren.<\/p>\n<p>This is a poem about our meeting.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I heard a Siren sing today<br \/>\nAnd all the world stood still<br \/>\nTo see the light shine coffee and cream upon her skin<\/p>\n<p>I felt the moment everything<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">+++<\/span>Stopped<\/p>\n<p>And the current pulled me in<\/p>\n<p>And despite so many warnings about Sirens<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t mind<br \/>\n<span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">+++<\/span>I didn&#8217;t mind<\/p>\n<p>I wrapped myself in a net<br \/>\nTo place at her feet<br \/>\nAnd for one moment I thought<br \/>\nShe might pick it up<br \/>\n<span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">+++<\/span>and drag me down<br \/>\n<span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">++++++<\/span>and drown me<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t mind<\/p>\n<p>But then she took the net<br \/>\n<span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">++++++<\/span>(and me)<br \/>\nAnd threw them back<br \/>\nHer fingers yet wrapped tight around the line<\/p>\n<p>She called another sailor<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;m fine<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m fine<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"visibility: hidden;\">+++++++++<\/span>I&#8217;m fine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I attended A-Camp this past weekend, and there I met a Siren.
